Bobux Eco-Leather™ conforms to, and exceeds the British and European Safety Standard BS 5665:EN71 Part 3:Safety of toys, as well as the Japanese Industrial Safety Standard JIS/L1041. This process produces an exceptionally soft nappa, which is gentle on baby's delicate skin and safe on the environment. All colours are water based, non-toxic and free from Chrome (IV) dyes. In 2005, Bobux footwear gained the highly respected German TUV product safety endorsement for baby products, and the right to display the logo on all its footwear. This is a guarantee that Bobux Eco-Leather™ and all the products that go into every pair of Bobux shoes have been tested and approved by TUV to the highest and most rigid standard of safety. Why Leather?
Leather is the ideal material for baby's footwear, as it provides excellent breathability and comfort in different climates. In warm weather, leather breathes and helps absorb perspiration. These qualities keep baby's feet cool and dry, resulting in superior comfort. In cooler climates, it prevents little feet from losing heat.
Leather is soft, durable and its stretchable qualities provide unrestricted foot movement from crawling, to cruising, to walking. In these situations, leather will flex and mould around baby's feet. It will not restrict the natural development and growth of little feet. Leather also provides the feeling of going bare footed, which is very important at this stage of foot development (see Baby's Foot Health).
The use of suede leather for the sole provides all the qualities of leather plus superior anti-skid properties over the full area of the sole.
The full benefits of leather can only be obtained when the shoe is handcrafted from 100% super soft nappa leather, with no synthetic lining or materials to hinder breathability and flexibility.
